I would like to start by saying that I am in no way an interior decorator. To be honest, I have hard enough time matching clothes. I often find myself buying whatever the manican has on cause I know it all goes together… not kidding!

However, I was sitting in an office the other day and I saw some paintings on the wall and I kept thinking to myself… “I wonder who picked out? And why?” The print just didn’t seem to fit or the person that purchased it thought it would bring some sophistication
to an office space that was very bland.

So after my experience in this office, I decided to do a little research as to how to pick an appropriate piece of art. Although I am not by any means an interior decorater, I think you would agree that choosing any art piece whether it is a print, original painting, sculpture, photograph or collectable, you can make or break a room choosing incorrectly?

You can make quite a statement with the correct art piece! It definitely has the ability to communicate on many different levels to those in your office or that come into your personal office space. A particular piece of art can even have an impact on your daily performance.

The thing is, I’m sure you all have had the same experience I had. Whether or not you actually acknowledge it, is a different story, but I’m sure you’ve walked into an office for the very first time and while waiting, find yourself looking around, examining
everything in the room! You can often times get a real good feel for the people there and get a sense of what they are all about by the decor the have.

From your own experiences and observations you’ve probably seen people with very good taste and then again, people who do not seem to have a clue about design or even worse yet, people who don’t care a hoot about aesthetics at all! But if you are reading this article, then I’m sure you are not one of those people in the last category! Thank Goodness! We
need all the aesthetics we can get on this, sometimes, seemingly wacky place we live!

Tip # 1 – And probably the most important, if you don’t absolutely love it, don’t buy it! It’s that simple. Would you buy an article of clothing if you didn’t like it? I don’t think you would.

Tip # 2 – If you are making the art piece the focal point of the room, build around it. All the office furniture and accessories should compliment the print.

Tip # 3 – Don’t overpower the poster or print with too much color on the walls or furniture unless it is a very dramatic print that can carry it well! It will just disappear into the background.

Tip # 4 – What is it that you want to convey to your employees; leadership, initiative, teamwork, success, confidence, or determination?

It’s important to get across the right message. A captivating print with an inspirational quote can be a powerful tool that can help motivate staff and impress clients who come to your place of business.

Tip # 5 – Choosing the right frame can make a huge difference in the overall appearance of the motivational posters you choose. You want people to see the print and to get your message across… so choose carefully.

If a motivational poster or print moves you and you feel it will motivate other who see it, then you have a winner!!!

Enjoy the research of finding what is right for your office!

I hope you enjoyed these 5 tips and they assist you in finding that perfect piece for you office, whether it’s your personal office space or client space.

If you found this information useful, please take the time to leave a comment to assist others in their process.

To your success,

Letting go of the emotions that trap you, painful memories, fears, depression, or anger, is the way to a longer and healthier life.

~ Deepak Chopra, M.D.

I feel the biggest part of this quote is so often we carry our past with us. It’s like the old saying goes of referring to people as “carrying baggage”.

We feel as though we’ve forgiven people in our past who have hurt us or disappointed us, and yet, all we have done is buried inside of us, never really dealing with it. Letting “time” heal the wounds. When in fact, all time does, if not addressed, creates more anger internally. So much anger you put yourself in a position where you begin to sabotage yourself in finding what you desire whether it’s a relationship, a better job or whatever because of fear. Fear of getting hurt… again!

For instance, it’s very difficult to love someone when you carry the anger, disappointment, and painful memories of past relationships. It’s not only tough for you, but it’s tough for the person who loves you knowing you’re not fully committed because of fear of getting hurt. You begin to create stories in your head comparing the person in your past relationship to your current relationship, even though they are two totally different people. That is not fair to the other person, but more importantly… it’s not fair to you. Why would you want to carry that around? Why would you want to feel the anger and disappointment at the mere sound of a certain song?

To move and let go of the emotions that Deepak talks about, you must first accept the decisions you have made and own them… good or bad! Own them! The second thing is, you have to address the true source of the anger, disappointment, and painful memories. Be honest with yourself, friends, family and put it all out on the table. It is a process you are going to have to go through if you want to find the relationship you desire.

If you don’t do it now… you’ll continue to sabotage yourself. You’ll find things wrong in other people to protect yourself from getting hurt. You will continually point the finger outward when in fact… it is not them who are failing, it is you who is not allowing them to succeed!

To your prosperity,
Mike

You see, it’s never the environment; it’s never the events of our
lives, but the meaning we attach to the events — how we
interpret them — that shapes who we are today
and who we’ll become tomorrow.

Tony Robbins

The environment he is referring to is everything outside of yourself. The things you have no control over; the traffic, your boss, the economy, your spouse, children, friends, etc, etc. The meanings we give our life events are based off our filters we have established and our own set of values and rules we have created through varies influences in our lives; family, friends, education, media, etc. Most often times… they are not even our own. We tend to adopt filters and blueprints from the influences in our lives without ever realizing it.

The point is that it’s not wrong at all… if you have an understand and/or an awareness as to why you do what you do when you do it. Because the simple truth is, you have the ability to change you’re blueprint of your world, the filters of how you see the world and more importantly… the rules you give to your values if you’re aware of your current mindset.

It all comes down to a choice. You make choices and decisions in every moment of everyday. Those decisions are based off of everything mentioned above. The questions is; Do you feel you are making the right decisions? Are you where you want to be… right now? If not, you need to make adjustments within yourself!

I look forward to hearing from you,
