| How do you know which home based businesess are ltge How do you know which home based business is right for you?Well... the first thing is you have to determine whether or not the opportunity you're looking at is a home based business or a work from home opportunity. The things like stuffing envelopes or data entry is more of a work from home opportunity and not a home based business... although they promote it as a home based business. The easiest way to determine if it's a home based business is simply residual income. If you have the ability to build a true residual income... then it would be considered a home based business. The other thing, you HAVE to do your due diligence to find out as much as you can about the company or the opportunity. In doing your due diligence you will find out information about the product or service you'll be providing people. Is it something you can get behind and be passionate about it? If you can't then it's probably not for you. For instance, if you're not into investing or life insurance... then working for a company that does that isn't for you. The second thing is... you have to understand how you get paid! Most people jump into opportunities and have no idea how the comp plan works. The bottom line is this... in order to make the best educated decision for yourself, you have to get as much information as you need (not anyone else) to make that educated decision. You have the internet, friends, mentors, business people, and/or family members in which you can get answers! The catch is this... make sure you ask people that have the mindset that you want to achieve. Don't ask a person that is always blaming others for their lack of success. I hope this provided the value you were looking for. Thank you for the question, Mike | 21 Mar, 2010 4:01 AM |

| I have not worked outside the home since 1991. Skills that I possess are the gift of gab, encouragement, writing, baking things from scratch and most of all the fact that I am a survivor with a story to tell. I recently began selling a few of my baked items and writing down inspiring events from my past, medical victories, and upcoming challenges and expectations. I have also been told that I am highly insightful.........so Mike, where do we start? Thanks, VanessaVanessa, Those are some great skills you posses. Being able to talk to people is probably the hardest hurdle most people face. On top of that, coming from a place of encouragement without personal motivates behind it is an even better skill to have. Those are all great things! So.. where do you start? I would say the first place is where your passion lies. There is no need to get involved with promoting a product, service, or company that is selling widgets when your passion is baking. The first thing I would recommend is to write down the things, including baking, that you have passion for and/or have a high level of interest for. Make the list as large as you would like, but I would narrow the final list to no more than 5. The reason being is that it's easier to research 4 or 5 niches or opportunities than trying to research 7 or 8. You don't want to spend the next 4 weeks on researching opportunities. That would be the first place I would start. After that, there are some questions I would begin to ask as you start to research your interests. If you're interested in those questions, please feel free to email through here or you can email at mike.clark@creatingyourvelocity.com. I do hope this answered your questions of "where do we start?" Just know it's a process and you want to make sure you do your due diligence before you invest your time and/or money in to any opportunity. I look forward to hearing from you, Mike | 29 Apr, 2011 1:01 AM |
